Dry Fire – Why You’ll Want to Make the Time

Finally, it’s spring. If you’re like me and live above the Mason-Dixon line, getting to the range this winter was almost impossible. Sure, we had some nice days, but we also had a boatload of snow on the ground, and I belong to an outdoor range. Two years ago, the first signs of spring made me regret falling behind on my practice over the winter, but not this year. I promised myself at the onset of cold weather that I’d keep up my skills with dry fire throughout those freezing months, and now that the snow has melted and it’s getting warmer, I’m sure glad I did.

Press Release

Dene Adams® Launches NEW Body Shaping Thigh Holster Shorts & Leggings

Luxury, handmade concealed carry apparel company expands their product line.

Kansas City, Missouri – October 2016

Dene Adams®, the only manufacturer of luxury handmade concealed carry corset holsters with trigger protection, today announced the launch of their new product, the Body Shaping Thigh Holster Shorts and Leggings.

Anna Taylor, designer of the Dene Adams® holsters, has once again designed a product that is made for your everyday wear, no matter the season you are in. The Body Shaping Thigh Holster Shorts or Leggings allow you to wear your dresses or skirts while securely holstering your gun on your thigh. This new thigh holster will leave no gun bulge on the outside of your thigh. The New Body Shaping Thigh Holster securely holsters your gun in a sub layer of the shorts body shaping compression. This innovative and extremely comfortable, lightweight thigh holster has a built in trigger guard for added protection and a fast breakaway retention tab holsters your gun securely in place. Our signature holster compartment holds the grip of your gun snug to your leg to prevent a protruding grip from rubbing on the other thigh or printing through your skirt or dress. The thigh holster is intended for micro compact single stack pistols.

Dene Adams® has been producing holsters, handmade in America, since August 2014. To learn more about their products, visit their website at www.deneadams.com.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Keeping Your Core Warm

Because you can’t plan an emergency, you should practice shooting year-round, even when it’s bitter cold outside. I find those semi-adhesive heat patches available in pharmacies for back and body aches work great to help keep your core nice and warm.

Pick up a few boxes whenever you see them on sale throughout the year and you will be ready to go when you need them.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Mechanic’s Gloves!

Pick up some “mechanics gloves” to shoot with when the weather turns cold. Because they are designed to be used by mechanics who need good dexterity of their fingers while working, they work well for shooting.

Depending on the brand, they also have a varying amount of padding in the palms, which absorbs some recoil, and the amount of grip they offer is perfect.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Keeping Your Fingers and Toes Warm

Want to keep your fingers and toes warm while shooting outdoors this winter? Disposable hand and toe warmers work great for cold weather range days!

Those little air-activated packets stay warm for upwards of 7+ hours once opened. Kept in your pockets, you can grab and hold the hand warmers whenever you feel yourself losing manual dexterity in your fingers because of the cold. As the toe warmers have adhesive on one side, you can stick them to the bottom of your socks (up by your toes), before putting your boots on. Your toes will be toasty for hours. I know with me, if I can keep my fingers and toes warm, the rest of my body does not seem to mind the cold as much.
